Antique Restorations

Ron Mutch of Errol is a time served traditional cabinet maker and French polisher. He has his workshop on the outskirts of Errol, based in rural Perthshire.He has been involved with the antique restoration business since 1973 serving his apprenticeship at Errol Antiques under the auspices of Mr Charles Knox, who was the foreman cabinet maker at the Dundee furniture manufacturer Thomas Justice & Sons before moving to Errol Antiques. During one's apprenticeship all the traditional aspects of work a restorer learns were perfected under the ever watchful eye of Mr Knox. During Ron's 38 year involvement with the trade, all varieties of work have been undertaken and has been involved with other craftsmen, such as wood turning, woodcarving and upholstery. The highest standards being achived as required by Ron Mutch Antique Restorations. Individual dining room chairs can be produced matching the originals to complete a set, where on has been lost or damaged beyond repair, or if needed a complete dining room set can be produced.
